A pressure-only exhaust vent valve with an integrated flame arrester and connecting pipe configuration, designed for fixed-roof atmospheric storage tanks holding Class A and Class B flammable petroleum and petrochemical products. Unlike a combined pressure/vacuum relief valve, this unit functions solely as an outbreathing device — venting excess vapor pressure generated during tank filling or thermal expansion while preventing the propagation of an external flame back into the tank vapor space through its built-in flame arrester element.
The connecting pipe configuration allows the valve to be positioned and routed to suit tank nozzle layouts and site-specific discharge requirements. Available in IIA and IIB flame arrester classifications to match the explosive gas group of the stored product, in accordance with NFPA 69 and API 2000. Flanged end connections are available to ASME B16.5 standards. Suitable for use as part of a broader tank venting system that may also include a separate vacuum relief or inbreathing valve.
- Pressure-only (single exhaust) design for dedicated outbreathing and vapor venting service
- Integrated flame arrester prevents external ignition from flashing back into the tank vapor space
- Available in IIA and IIB flame arrester classifications to match stored product explosive gas group
- Connecting pipe configuration for flexible routing and positioning at the tank nozzle
- Compact, lightweight construction for ease of installation and reduced nozzle loading
- Low leakage design minimizes product evaporation loss and volatile emissions during normal operation
- Large ventilation capacity relative to unit size for efficient vapor discharge during filling operations
- Removable flame arrester element for periodic inspection and cleaning
